Position: Reward & Payroll Assistant
Location: City of Edinburgh

Anderson Knight are recruiting a
Reward and Payroll Assistant on behalf of our well-established client based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation with a strong people-first culture, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of an accurate, efficient, and engaging payroll and reward function.

The successful candidate will work closely with the HR and Reward teams to ensure smooth payroll operations and contribute to the ongoing development of the company’s reward and benefits offering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly payroll process, ensuring all data is accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee information, including new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits such as pensions, healthcare, and bonus schemes.
  • Provide first-line support for employee payroll and reward queries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements (HMRC, pensions, etc.).
  • Support annual pay and reward review cycles and contribute to wider reward and recognition projects.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and data integrity at all times.
About You

The ideal candidate will be detail-focused, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have a genuine interest in payroll and reward, with a desire to learn and develop in this area.

You will have
  • Previous experience in a payroll &HR administration role (reward experience advantageous).
  • Strong numerical skills and a high level of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems and processes.
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
