Location: City of Edinburgh

Foundation Scotland is an independent charity that provides funding to charities, social enterprises and community organisations. We do this on behalf of over 400 individuals, charitable trusts and companies.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll balance day‑to‑day HR operations with contributing to a range of people projects, perfect if you’re eager to broaden your experience and stretch your HR capabilities.

  • Being the first point of contact for employees and managers, offering clear, solution‑focused HR advice across the full lifecycle.
  • Supporting on recruitment, onboarding, contract changes, performance, and leavers ensuring a smooth, consistent employee experience.
  • Contributing to engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives, including surveys, feedback analysis and action planning.
  • Helping to develop and embed policies, toolkits, and training to support managers and strengthen people practices.
  • Making confident use of digital tools, HR systems and people data to support reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Working collaboratively across teams and contributing to organisational priorities.
  • Playing an active role in people‑centric projects, helping us improve processes and embed new ways of working.

This is an exciting, hands‑on role where your ideas and initiative will be welcomed and valued. This post is part‑time at 21 or 28 hours per week – we are open to the conversation around what working hours might fit best.

About You

  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and stay focused in evolving situations.
  • A confident recruiter – you will be comfortable managing end‑to‑end recruitment as we continue to expand our team.
  • Confident interpreting and communicating people information.
  • Digitally capable, with experience using systems and data to support your work.

You’ll bring HR experience or perhaps be ready to step from talent acquisition into a broader generalist role. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who cares deeply about supporting people and helping our organisation be at its best.
