The Front of House team will play a vital role in ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience for all our artists, audiences and customers throughout Summerhall Arts Fringe 2026.
We are looking for excellent Front of House assistants for this year’s Fringe, delivered by Summerhall Arts Front of House team will play a vital role in ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience for all our artists, audiences and customers throughout Summerhall Arts Fringe 2026. This is a fast-paced, public-facing role that requires stamina, multitasking skills, and the ability to think on your feet.
We are looking for people who can work independently as well as part of a big team, to ensure the smooth running of our venue. You will be the first point of contact, and first face customers and companies see, so great communication skills and a big smile are essential!
- Welcoming audiences into the building and venue spaces, you will be the first point of contact for all of our customers and companies
- Assisting audiences who have specific access requirements
- Queue management, selling, checking and scanning customer tickets, and seating audiences
- Liaising with performers, basic stage management and ensuring that performances start and end on time
- Supporting the day to day running of the venue, keeping areas clean and tidy, keeping on top of lost property, reporting any activities that may risk the safety of visitors
- Enthusiastic and Approachable – You enjoy helping customers to get the most out of their experience
- Motivated and hardworking – You can work well under pressure and during very busy peaks of service
- Have a passion for the arts and an excitement for Summerhall Arts’ Fringe programme
- Excellent communicator
- Strong timekeeping skills
- Team player but equally comfortable working independently
- Experience in a customer service role at a festival or arts organisation would be nice, but not essential

1 Summerhall, Edinburgh EH9 1PL - Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour + holiday pay
- Hours:
minimum of 30 hours per week - Contract Type:
