Overview
Lochrin Rooftop Bar – Bar Supervisor (Contracted hours: Full Time, Permanent). Located on the top level of the Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge Hotel, we provide laidback comfort for international visitors and the people of Edinburgh with a cozy, elegant venue and outdoor terrace seating. Our food offering includes “Gusty Scran’’ and pairs with our cocktails. We welcome open public and private hire events and seek proactive, friendly personalities to lead our close-knit team in a fast-paced, upmarket setting.
We are looking for passionate individuals who enjoy food, drinks, and delivering excellent service.
Responsibilities- Serving guests and creating positive experiences
- Manage all bills and payments correctly
- Prepare food, clean, tidy, restock, take deliveries, and organize BOH areas
- Follow all food safety, licensing and health and safety policies to work safely
- Cook and prepare meals to standard
- Prepare exceptional cocktails to standard
- Use effective sales skills to up-sell products and services
- Provide excellent customer service
- Support other team members and management
- Promote and support the bar and wider hotel
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 kg without assistance
- Assist Bar Manager with daily operations and forward planning
- Conduct consistent training with bar team members
- Ensure standards are maintained and daily/weekly/monthly tasks are completed
- Is passionate about leading and developing a team
- Has creative input into a drinks offering
- Is looking to advance their career in hospitality
- Is eager to learn management tasks of running a bar
- Is keen to assist with rotas, ordering, stock control & recruitment
- Experience of supervising a team within the hospitality industry
- Supervising shifts without manager presence
- Handling reservations via systems such as Open Table
- Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros
- Knowledge of Food Safety & Licensing laws
- Knowledge of a wide range of drinks
- Cocktail making experience
- Basic food preparation experience
