Overview
Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a Woman with a Physical Disability living in the Carluke area. You would provide one-to-one care and assistance within the home and in the community, including personal care and participation in social activities.
Responsibilities- Attend to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements).
- Assist with medication.
- Prepare meals and healthy snacks as required.
- Provide walking assistance.
- Move and assist with a manual wheelchair.
- Household shopping and collecting prescriptions.
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
- Experience is required.
- Must be available to cover staff absences and holidays.
- The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role; good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Hours of work (with a degree of flexibility): 16 hours per week, 4 shifts of 4 hours, typically Monday to Friday, 1 PM – 5 PM.
- Overtime will be available to cover the existing team’s absence.
- Hourly rate: £12.60 per hour.
- Shifts:
4 hours per day, 1 PM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday (flexible as needed). - Driver preferred but not essential.
- Pets in the household – comfortable working with a dog/cat/bird.
- Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19; careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
