Overview

Inspector Mental Health (NHS Inspections) () — Full-Time, Fixed-term Contract or Secondment until 31/05/2027. Band 7 (£50,861 - £59,159). Glasgow/Edinburgh:
Hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future. This post is with the NHS Inspection Programme within the Quality Assurance and Regulation Directorate of Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The role leads a portfolio of high-profile inspections to meet legislative, statutory and national requirements for care and services to the people of Scotland.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to identify, analyse and evaluate practices, systems and policies to support improved outcomes for people using health and care services in Scotland.
  • Deliver and lead on a portfolio of inspections within mental health and learning disabilities services to support safe delivery of care across Scotland.
  • Identify and deliver key milestones for inspection programmes on time and to the required standard.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Recent clinical experience within an acute mental health care setting.
  • Evidence of senior leadership and management experience.
  • Masters level or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g. mental health or learning disabilities nursing) and ongoing professional registration.
  • Regular travel throughout Scotland is required (including overnight stays), which may be required at short notice.
