Support Worker/Personal Assistant required – My name is Robb and I was born with a genetic condition known as Angelman Syndrome which has impacted on my cognitive development and mobility which has resulted in the need for twenty‑four‑hour support. I live independently in my own flat in the Murray area of East Kilbride and currently have a team of 4 Support Workers, an opportunity has arisen to extend the team.
I enjoy socialising as people fascinate me, going to the movies, sensory activities, swimming and going out for walks or in my car. I also enjoy engaging with my support workers and I am very easy‑going and good‑natured.
Permanent position subject to six‑month probationary period.
Hours & PayHOURS:
Part‑Time (20‑25 hrs per week).
- £13.25 per hour – Day shift (8:30 am to 5:00 pm)
- £12.60 per hour – Night shift (10:00 pm to 9:00 am)
Driver essential and Mobility car is available; you must have a clean licence.
Responsibilities- Provide one‑to‑one care and assistance within his home, at the day centre and in the community.
- Administer medication, feed, assist with personal care, support social needs and perform some housework.
- Take him swimming (a favourite activity) and engage in adapted sports such as skiing, music, sensory experiences and socialising.
Experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided. The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Shifts- Day Shift: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Back Shift: 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm
- Sleeping Night Shift: 10:00 pm to 9:00 am
