This is an excellent opportunity for registered pharmacy technicians to join NHSGGC Pharmacy Services Staff Bank to ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients.

You will be highly motivated and proactive, and your key duties will include overseeing the supply of medicines to wards and departments, including high-cost medicines. You will accuracy check dispensed medicines in accordance with national guidelines and local standard operating procedures. You will be responsible for accurately processing ward orders for medicines using the pharmacy electronic stock management system and you will assist in the supervision of pharmacy support workers and pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians.

You will perform controlled drug audits at ward level and in the main pharmacy department and investigate discrepancies in accordance with local standard operating procedures. You will support the training and development of pharmacy support workers, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists.

You must be a registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have a recognised dispensary accuracy checking qualification.

You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, be able to work independently and as part of a team interchangeably, be able to use your own initiative and be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and that of others.
