OverviewPart time, 4 days per week, undertaken flexibly to support/cover various Estates and Facilities job families and staff working patterns; including out of hours work at times: evenings, weekends and night shift. This role covers NHS Lothian wide Estates and Facilities job roles.
Responsibilities- Part time, 4 days per week, undertaken flexibly to support/cover various Estates and Facilities job families and staff working patterns; including out of hours work at times: evenings, weekends and night shift
- Pan Lothian Role, based at the RIE/RHCYP, Edinburgh
- Covering NHS Lothian wide Estates and Facilities job roles
- Assess the Manual Handling practice of Estates and Facilities staff and provide Manual Handling education, coaching and advice to those job families
- Represent the MHS as an accountable and approachable team member, promoting safer systems of work and staff safety
- Possess working knowledge of manual handling legislation, ergonomics and risk assessment
- Work within a governance structure and participate in core activities such as onsite competency assessments and day-to-day team procedures
- Knowledge of manual handling legislation, ergonomics and risk assessment
- Ability to educate and coach staff in manual handling practices
- Strong organisational, flexible working and planning skills
- PVG Scheme membership/record is required; if not current, eligibility for Disclosure Scotland checks will apply
- Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check; if assessed as a "regulated role", appointment is subject to joining the PVG Scheme
- Post involves working knowledge of safe manual handling practices and application of ergonomics
- Interviews will include assessed practical elements, conducted face to face

Important noticesAs from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week reduces from 37 to 36 hours per week.
