GP Maternity Locum Cover ; sessions Slateford Medical Practice

We are a city based GP Practice in Edinburgh seeking to employ a 5 session Maternity Locum for 12 months from mid March 2026. Sessions are Tuesday and Friday full days and Thursday morning. We would welcome your application to join our friendly team.

We have a patient population of just over 10,200 patients and we use Vision as our clinical system. The practice promotes a supportive, collaborative approach to work. We have daily huddles to discuss interesting and challenging cases. All of our appointments are 15 min and are patient choice of face to face or telephone appointment.

The post will be available from Mid March 2026 and will be for 12 months. The successful candidate will be working all day Tuesday and Friday and Thursday morning.

We currently have a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 7 salaried doctors, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 3 HCA's, an MSK Physiotherapist, a Mental Health Nurse, 2 pharmacists and 1 Pharmacy technician. We have a Practice Manager and Business Manager and a very friendly helpful reception/ admin team.

The GP Practice is part of modern purpose built premises which also house community services such as District Nursing, Health Visitors, School Nurses and Midwives whom we work closely with. We teach 1st and 4th year Edinburgh University medical students.

We are a sociable, animal loving team. We are fortunate to have an outside seating area where we can all get together for coffee and lunch when the weather permits!
