NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service – Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

Position: Band 6 Pharmacist (1.0 WTE, Permanent, 37 Hours Per Week)

Salary: £41,608 – £50,702 (includes evening, weekend and public holiday commitments)

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic pharmacist to join our dynamic, diverse team. Our pharmacy service is rapidly developing and offers exciting opportunities to grow in a supportive environment.

• Deliver increasingly complex person‑centred care across a range of settings, including hospital rotations.
• Develop prescribing capabilities and integrate with pharmacy and broader multi‑professional teams.
• Receive structured support from an educational supervisor and experienced pharmacy teams.
• Participate in the NES post‑registration foundation programme, including entry onto an independent prescribing course.
• Receive protected learning time and peer support within the team.

• Masters Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent).
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills and a commitment to learning and development.
• Ready to complete the NES post‑registration foundation training programme.
• Independent Prescriber training (or support for obtaining it) will be provided.

Apply before 1 April 2026 as the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
