Overall Summary
The Fund Operations Team provides support to the Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) / Authorised Fund Manager (AFM) of the Trinity Bridge fund range, as well as to various internal and external stakeholders.
The Team’s main role involves overseeing the day-to-day service provided by the Fund Administrator (Transfer Agent and Fund Accountants), the Custodian, and liaising with the Trustee & Depositary on all operational matters. This includes due diligence, annual outsourcing reviews, new initiatives and project management.
The Role Of The Technical Specialist Is- To provide support for projects including the launch of new Funds
- To act as a key representative in project meetings towards the launch of new funds and other initiatives and the incorporation of them into the current operational and monitoring structure.
- To support the Head of Fund Operations in accommodating and developing process changes and new functions in respect of our fund range.
- To participate in operational activities in support of our existing fund range and the monitoring of the service delivered from our outsourced administration providers.
- The Technical Specialist will be expected to carry out the responsibilities below and to oversee the performance of these tasks by other Fund Operations Specialists in the team for the purposes of second-checking, verification and authorisation.
- To liaise with the fund administrator - transfer agent, fund accountant, and custodian and with the Trustee & Depositary on matters relating to the fund launches and their ongoing operation, as agreed with the Head of Fund Operations.
- To deal with ad-hoc daily issues/queries, validation of information, MI and data requests.
- To participate in meetings with the Administrator and/or Trust & Depositary as required.
- Assisting with the setting up of oversight and monitoring, including contributing to processes and procedures.
- Undertake project work as required and to be able to provide firm and qualified direction to the Fund Administrator. This may require research, analysis and investigation.
- Provide fund related operational support to other departments and senior management including second checking, proof reading and sharing best practice.
- To prepare submissions to internal committees and respond to audit requests.
- Interpret regulations, statements of recommended practice and guidelines, and to assess resulting operational obligations and implications and to make recommendations accordingly.
- To create and document new procedures.
- To analyse data, identify and investigate trends and spikes.
- To provide training to Fund Operations colleagues in any new processes created for new funds.
- To provide occasional cover for absence for BAU Fund Operations functions including NAV oversight.
The postholder is likely to have had a career with a custodian, fund management company, or fund administrator, and should have:
- A proven knowledge of Fund Custody and the structure and operation of Fund Administration (Transfer Agency and Fund Accounting), and Trust & Depositary.
- A robust understanding of the regulations relating to Funds.
- A high level of Funds and securities industry experience from a custody and/or operational perspective.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.
- Project and coordination experience.
- An understanding of CASS regulations would be advantageous.
- The ability to interpret and present data and information.
- A high degree of attention to detail.
- The ability to work to strict deadlines.
