An established, privately owned group is seeking an Associate Director to join its corporate finance and private capital function at a pivotal point in its evolution.
The organisation operates across media, digital platforms, technology and private capital, with a growing focus on long‑term, sustainable investments.
They are seeking a highly capable Associate Director to support group‑level corporate finance activity, including research and analysis to support strategic projects, M&A activity and monitor existing private capital investments, acting as a strategic connector across the broader group.
Working closely with senior leadership across operating businesses, investment activity and long‑term strategy and governance.
Corporate finance and strategy- Supporting inorganic growth strategies, including acquisitions, partnerships and minority or majority investments
- Conducting research and analysis to develop robust investment theses informed by macro trends, regulation and sector convergence
- Supporting strategic projects linked to M&A, investments and innovation initiatives across the group
- Translating complex commercial opportunities into clear, board‑ready recommendations
- Building financial models, valuations and scenario analyses to support senior decision‑making
- Preparing high‑quality business cases and investment papers for internal approval and governance
- Supporting governance and performance oversight across the private investment portfolio
- Monitoring financial and strategic KPIs and reporting to the investment committee
- Identifying opportunities for synergy and cross‑fertilisation across portfolio companies and group businesses
- Building trusted relationships with portfolio company leadership
- 5–8+ years’ experience in corporate finance, private equity, venture capital or institutional investing
- A strong track record in investment analysis across multiple sectors; exposure to clean tech, energy, agri‑tech or sustainability‑focused businesses would be advantageous
- Experience of commercial due diligence, deal structuring and transaction execution
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation capability, with a willingness to be hands‑on in a lean team
- Strong strategic and commercial judgement, with the ability to connect macro trends to practical opportunities
- Credibility and confidence engaging senior internal stakeholders, including board‑level audiences
- The maturity and resilience to operate effectively within a long‑term, privately owned environment
