Project Accountant - FTC

Position: Project Accountant - 12 Month FTC
Project Accountant (12-Month FTC) Glasgow A well-established, internationally operating technical and professional services organisation is seeking a Project Accountant to join its Glasgow-based finance team on a 12-month fixed-term (maternity cover) contract . This role sits within a structured controlling / project accounting environment and will suit someone who enjoys working closely with project managers, maintaining strong financial control and supporting delivery across a portfolio of projects.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of monthly P&L reporting for a project-led division Project accounting across multiple live projects, including WIP tracking and cost-at-completion reviews Monitoring project costs, revenue recognition and profitability Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and commentary Monthly accruals and prepayments, including support for overseas entities Supporting month-end, year-end and audit processes Ensuring compliance with internal controls and group reporting requirements Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required Requirements Were keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
Experience in project accounting, management accounting or controlling Exposure to WIP, project costing or contract-based environments Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems (SAP desirable but not essential) Ability to work to tight deadlines within a structured reporting environment Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-finance stakeholders Part-qualified, fully qualified (CA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience Whats on Offer 12-month fixed-term contract Competitive salary package plus strong benefits Exposure to a global organisation with complex, interesting projects Supportive finance team with clear processes and systems
