Salary and benefits:£45,000 - £60,000 plus a bonus range of 16%-32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.
The roleWe’re looking for a Finance Risk & Controls Consultant who’s ready to play a pivotal role in strengthening and continuously improving the risk and control environment across our Finance function. If you’re motivated by variety, collaboration, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference, this could be the role for you.
In this role, you’ll work across a diverse range of Finance processes and teams, helping us maintain a strong, effective, and well‑governed control framework. You’ll support Senior Managers and Risk & Control Leads with key activities such as:
- Carrying out assurance and control testing to assess effectiveness
- Helping document and enhance controls and processes
- Embedding the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Internal Controls Framework (ICF)
- Monitoring control performance and supporting timely issue remediation
- Contributing to action plan management
- Preparing high‑quality materials for governance meetings
You’ll have the chance to work flexibly across high‑priority areas, gaining broad exposure to Finance activities. This is a great opportunity to build both technical capability and soft skills while shaping how we manage financial and operational risks.
What we’re looking for- Experience in finance, actuarial, risk, audit or controls, ideally within insurance
- A solid understanding of financial processes or End User Computing (EUC), controls, and internal standards
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to explain control concepts simply
- A collaborative, flexible working style and the confidence to support different teams
- A proactive mindset with a genuine appetite to learn, take ownership, and drive improvement
- Experience with Risk Management Frameworks, control testing or risk & controls management
- Ambition to grow your career in risk and controls, with a desire to progress into more senior or specialist roles
