About the Role

Attention:
This position provides financial leadership within the Solutions, Service & Support (SSS) sector of our Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business. The role reports directly to the VP Finance and delivers financial control, advice and support to the Sector Vice President and integrated project teams. Leading a small team, you will manage all financial and project reporting, deliver accurate and timely management information, and advise the project teams.

Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with internal and external financial policies, maintaining adherence to current accounting standards, and supporting business accounting within the sector. This is a full‑time role based at one of our major sites – Luton, Basildon or Edinburgh – with occasional travel to other sites. Custom working arrangements, including some home‑working, are available as required by the team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality management accounts and financial reports to sector VPs & the VP Finance during monthly Finance / Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Prepare forecasts, risks and opportunities for presentation to VP Finance and SVP.
  • Engage with campaign teams and model and analyse business scenarios.
  • Provide objective challenge to VPs and integrated project teams, influencing cost control and improved profit performance / working capital management.
  • Act as deputy for VP Finance CS3 when required, exercising full delegated authority.
  • Review business cases, tender vetting and capital associated with investment requests, providing robust challenge and recommendations to VPs and IPTs.
  • Own the financial input to the business plan for each Business Area, including the Strategic Plan, annual budget and growth options before VP Finance and SVP review.
  • Identify and implement continual process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead financial education for non‑finance staff within Business Areas, fostering sound financial decision‑making.
  • Ensure governance and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Leonardo Directives and Leonardo Ltd Finance Policies Manual.
  • Oversee development of the CS3 finance team through coaching and education, ensuring policy adherence and skill enhancement.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified accountant (part‑qualified may be considered).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a challenging mindset.
  • Preferably experienced in project / contract accounting.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and preferably experienced with SAP.
  • Proactive, with the ability to reprioritise to meet key deadlines.
  • Focus on high‑quality, accurate output and strong support.
  • Enthusiastic, eager to engage with projects / contracts.

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
