The role

As part of our growth strategy, we are looking to recruit an experienced Corporate Tax Director. The successful candidate will be part of the wider Saffery Corporate Tax team, responsible for developing our corporate tax offering in the local market and assisting our existing clients with corporate tax matters such as tax advisory, transaction services, compliance, and reporting obligations.

The responsibilities

Handling challenging technical issues, the role includes:

  • Developing relationships and new business opportunities with the support of the Head of Department and staff, providing a range of tax and related services.
  • Managing a group of clients with excellent technical expertise.
  • Leading and managing client relationships to foster new business.
  • Mentoring and developing associate directors and staff.
  • Ensuring excellent client service while minimizing conduct risk.
  • Contributing to departmental and office management as relevant.
  • Collaborating with internal fee earners to develop market strategies.
  • The team

    Our Corporate Tax team spans 9 offices, comprising 7 partners and over 100 professionals, serving sectors including manufacturing, technology, retail, recruitment, financial services, hospitality, and property.

    You

    The role is suited for a qualified individual (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CTA) with several years of post-qualification experience in corporate tax. The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong UK tax technical skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical queries and provide robust advice.
  • Project management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and budgeting.
  • Responsibility for work quality and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A client-focused approach and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Coaching and mentoring abilities.
