Tax Compliance Accountant

Job Description

As a Tax Compliance Accountant you will report to the Senior Tax Manager, supporting corporate tax compliance for the main UK legal entity and its subsidiaries. Responsibilities include preparing all aspects of the corporate tax compliance cycle, statutory reporting, liaising with internal functions and external advisors across the UK and Italy, ensuring timely tax payments, and maintaining tax documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collate information from divisional SAP systems and analyze data for all corporate tax returns, including UK, overseas branches, and Permanent Establishments.
  • Extract and analyze data for RDEC and Patent Box claims, and organize meetings with partners and advisors.
  • Ensure all Corporate Income Tax payments are made on time and reconcile tax accounts in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Support preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and input into Hyperion Financial Management.
  • Assist with preparation of documentation to support the Senior Accounting Officer requirements and respond to audit requests.
  • Provide documentation and maintain the annual UK Transfer Pricing report and related documentation.
  • Compile and prepare information for Controlled Foreign Companies and Country-by-Country Reporting.
  • Liaise and support other departments on technical tax matters, including corporate tax advice at bid stage.
  • Support internal forecasting and serve as a contact for relevant stakeholders.
  • Minimize exposure to penalties for late lodgement or mis-declaration, and update documentation of tax team processes.
  • Prepare information for Law 262 internal audit and external audits.
  • Support the wider tax team as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Professionally qualified or part-qualified compliance specialist with relevant experience.
  • Good IT skills, including SAP/ERP or equivalent systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Confidence in communicating at all levels of the business and to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Focus on governance and controls.
  • UK corporate tax, reporting, and forecasting experience; proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible working style, ability to multitask.
  • Motivated team player willing to be hands‑on.
  • Support package available towards professional tax/accounting qualification training.
