FPGA Engineer

6‑Month Contract | Onsite - Edinburgh | Inside IR35

A fast‑growing engineering tech organisation is seeking a Senior Firmware/FPGA Engineer to design and verify advanced FPGA sub‑systems. This is a hands‑on, multidisciplinary role working onsite in a modern R&D environment.

• Design FPGA architectures, IP cores, and full SoC RTL (VHDL/Verilog)
• Build verification test benches and ensure strong coverage
• Work with high‑speed SERDES (up to 28G/56G) and multi‑frequency clocking
• Use Intel/AMD tool chains for synthesis and timing
• Collaborate across hardware/embedded teams using Git/SVN

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar
• Strong FPGA design experience (VHDL/Verilog)
• Intel or Xilinx design tool experience
• High‑speed digital design + SERDES exposure
• Ability to meet tight delivery timelines
• Eligible for UK National Security Vetting

• Embedded software for FPGA‑based systems
• Telecoms/datacoms hardware experience
• Knowledge of OTN, Ethernet, SONET/SDH, PDH
