Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Principal Tunnelling Engineer to work on major civil engineering projects of a tunnelling nature across the UK. With an exciting and growing project portfolio, there is no better time to join us!
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a Design Lead for project elements, liaising directly with clients and the wider design team; day-to-day design development while being guided by a Technical Lead or mentor.
- Provide expertise and manage more junior engineers in the design of infrastructure elements.
- Contribute to the development of design documentation and technical solutions.
- Degree level in Civil or Civil & Structural Engineering, or MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/Geotechnical/Tunnelling Engineering, with or working toward professional membership.
- Broad experience as a designer in reinforced concrete to Eurocodes for underground structures such as secant piles, capping beams, segmental shaft linings, in‑situ concrete structural elements, D‑Walls, shafts and tunnels. Jeff
- Good familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles and soil‑structure interaction.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
