Summer Placement - Building Services (MEP) - Edinburgh

From helping shape entire cities to adapting infrastructure to deal with the climate emergency, a career at Buro Happold presents the chance to make a difference. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Building Services team in Edinburgh for an 8‑week summer placement.

The role could see you working as a mechanical designer in a large project team, or acting as a project engineer on smaller schemes. You will be involved in some of the most technically challenging projects in our portfolio, including projects at Manchester Science Park, Space Studios and the new development at Bramley Moore Dock in Liverpool.

• Undertake building services design and calculations using software and knowledge to verify robust calculations.
• Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports, and develop innovative design solutions.
• Plan and manage input to CAD for the production of design work.
• Attend (where possible) and shadow meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers.

• Currently studying towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Architecture & Environmental Engineering or Engineering Design.
