Grade UE04: £26,093 - £28,778 per annum

College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences / Teaching Office

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed-term: for 12 months from April 2026 to March 2027

The Opportunity

The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a full-time, open-ended Teaching Administrator.

The successful post holder will provide professional administrative support to School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences programmes within a creative and changing academic environment: supporting teaching (in-person and digital) and assessment processes for a number of courses; engaging with undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate taught (PGT) students, course organisers and the academic community to contribute to and deliver an exceptional and distinctive experience for our students.

They will form part of a wider Teaching Office team, and will also work collaboratively with others in the Student Services function, contributing to the overall support provided to students across their time with the School.

The role shall be based within Dugald Stewart Building (Central Campus). The post holder will be expected to be on campus for the first three months of their employment, after which there will be opportunities for discussion on hybrid workplace arrangements. However, please note that some on campus working will be required.

Your skills and attributes for success
  • Vocational qualification (e.g., N/SVQ Level 2 or 3, ONC, or equivalent) with relevant work experience; or a general secondary education (e.g., Standard Grade or equivalent) combined with demonstrable relevant work experience.
  • Competent and proven digital and IT skills;
    Microsoft Office applications – Word, PowerPoint, Excel – including Office 365 and SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, email, web.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise a demanding workload as part of a collaborative team.
  • Resourcefulness to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team with the ability to adapt quickly to change and new/enhanced student systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly, helpful, approachable and confident manner towards students and staff.
