About the role of Piano Teacher

We are now looking to hire 1-2 committed piano teachers to join our small team. The ideal candidate for the role of Piano Teacher is someone who will inspire students through delivering engaging lessons and fostering a love for music whilst developing students’ skills in performance, theory, and musicianship. This role requires a commitment to student development and the ability to create a positive learning environment.

You should be enthusiastic, inspiring and engaged with your craft with an obvious affinity for communicating ideas and concepts, and sparking enthusiasm in students.

Our group lessons entail using a fun, gamified approach to teach musical concepts and theory, contrasted with one to one coaching at the pianos as well as playing as an ensemble. We are looking for a skilled pianist and communicator who is naturally well organised and is driven to support students’ ongoing flourishing within a group setting. This role entails having the skillset to manage small groups of students and often to differentiate learning for students within the group to support each student to reach their potential.

Additional to small groups, the Piano Teacher will teach students in a one to one setting.

Aside from an attractive term-time working pattern with a competitive salary, the successful candidate will be working in the beautiful coastal town of Burntisland within an enthusiastic community of new piano students, supported by and working alongside the Piano School owner and small team of Piano Teachers. The start date for this role is the Fife schools Summer term (week beginning 20th April 2026).

There will be opportunity to shadow the Piano School Owner's lessons as well as accessing lesson plans and a variety of resources to support the new Piano Teacher in their role.

The successful candidate will work from the Piano School studio in Burntisland, which overlooks Burntisland Harbour and is based just behind the train station.
