Overview

Pupil Support Officer - fixed term until 26/06/2026

Broughton Cluster - Granton Primary, Ferryhill Primary, Stockbridge Primary, Flora Stevenson's Primary

Salary: £29,173- £33,287 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours:

30.75 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Working pattern for the position is Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm.

About the cluster

Broughton Learning Community is a diverse community situated in the North-West of Edinburgh. We work closely as a cluster developing joint initiatives. We have strong transition links, enhanced by the cluster counsellors working with pupils both in the primary and high school settings.

Role and responsibilities
  • Work across the Broughton cluster with other School based Pupil Support Officers.
  • Support children with a range of needs and build trusting relationships with children and their families.
  • Work to maximise attendance across the cluster.
  • Participate in induction and ongoing professional development in the service.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience as PSAs or demonstrated skills and experience in supporting children and families are encouraged to apply.
  • This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outwith the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

    You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
