QualificationsApplicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are invited for the posts of Locum Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. These 12-month posts have arisen due to maternity leave and are a great opportunity to come and work in a dynamic and enthusiastic department. Additional sub-specialty interests in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Pain Medicine and Regional Anaesthesia and will be particularly welcome. The final job plan will be agreed with the successful candidates and will include at least 1 SPA.
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh has a large anaesthetic department that has recently become ACSA accredited, and has close links with the University of Edinburgh Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. As a result, a range of opportunities exist for teaching, research and quality improvement work.
