The purpose of the fringe technician role is ultimately to provide effective support for all technical and production aspects of the venues.
The purpose of the fringe technician role is ultimately to provide effective support for all technical and production aspects of the venues, including, lighting, sound, AV, and stage management for events both in-house and with visiting companies.
What will you be doing?Principal areas of responsibility for all technicians will include:
- • Installation, set-up and removal of technical equipment
- • Assist visiting companies with technical rehearsals
- • Monitor and support visiting companies throughout the run.
- • Ensuring that all backstage facilities and equipment are prepared and maintained to the highest standard.
- • Assist in the daily turn rounds between shows, initial venue get-ins and subsequent get-outs.
- • Ensure high standards of health and safety are adhered
- • Operate shows as required
- • Complete and return daily show reports as directed.
- • Keep full records of all shows and venue setups including turnaround notes, cue sheets and any other paperwork required
- • Experience as a professional technician, preferably with a theatrical background.
- • Good basic working knowledge of theatrical and performance lighting technology,
- • Competent with setup and use of PA systems for performance and playback.
- • Working knowledge of health and safety in an events context
- • Ability to self organise and keep clear records
- • Excellent problem solving/fault finding skills
- • Experience with Yamaha and/or Allen & Heath digital sound desks
- • Experience with ETC Ion/EOS series lighting consoles
- • Experience with D&B and Nexo sound systems
- • Experience with rigging, maintenance and programming of Moving Light Fixtures.
- • PASMA access equipment qualifications
- • Experience supervising less experienced technicians.

Minimum £14.25 per hour and up (discussed at offer stage) - Hours:
minimum 40 hours per week - Contract Type:
