Freelance Video Editor

Join a creative project producing daily digital content for a cinematic pop and electronic music artist. This role focuses on transforming raw behind-the-scenes footage, instrument highlights, and lifestyle snippets into high-engagement 9:16 vertical videos for Tik Tok, Reels, and Shorts. The content should embody a surreal, gothic, and quirky aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Tim Burton and Björk’s visual style. The ideal candidate will have a strong design sensibility and the ability to craft visually compelling stories that resonate with a wide online audience.

This is a long-term, remote opportunity structured as a monthly retainer, perfect for a freelancer passionate about music and visual storytelling.

• Edit and produce 5 to 7 short-form social media videos per week (9:16 format)
• Incorporate provided footage, instrument highlights, and lifestyle content into engaging narratives
• Apply moody color grading and effects to achieve a phantasmagorical, twisted reality aesthetic
• Ensure all content aligns with the artist’s brand and visual direction
• Prepare videos for optimal performance on Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, and You Tube Shorts
• Collaborate remotely and deliver content on a consistent schedule

• Proven experience editing short-form video content for social media platforms
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative visual storytelling and design skills
• Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
• Ability to work with moody, surreal, and gothic visual themes
• Excellent sense of timing, pacing, and music synchronization
• Familiarity with current trends in social media video content
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to meet weekly deadlines
• Experience working remotely and communicating effectively with clients
• Interest in music, especially cinematic pop and electronic genres, is a plus
