Construction Site Manager - Restoration (Edinburgh / London Flexibility)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Site Manager to lead a high-profile restoration project based in Edinburgh. This 18‑month permanent position offers flexibility to transition to future projects in London upon completion.
Our client is a well‑established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex building and heritage restoration schemes across the UK. The project involves the restoration of listed buildings, requiring a confident, hands‑on professional capable of operating at senior stakeholder level.
Accommodation is provided in a newly converted apartment (shared with three subcontractors) located just four minutes from site. Utilities are fully covered, and flights home to Northern Ireland can be facilitated on alternate weekends.

• Proven experience as a CSR Site Manager

• Holds SMSTS (or equivalent) certification

• Strong building construction background (trade background highly desirable - not electrical or mechanical)

• Demonstrable experience working on restoration or listed building projects

• Ability to read, interpret and challenge drawings and specifications

• Confident in stakeholder engagement and capable of leading meetings with senior contractors

• Proactive, professional, and commercially aware

• Hands‑on approach with the ability to oversee works such as stone removal and replacement

• Based in Northern Ireland and willing to work away

As Site Manager, you will:

• Take full responsibility for day‑to‑day site operations on a listed building restoration project

• Manage subcontractors and coordinate trades on site

• Oversee specialist restoration works, including stone removal and replacement

• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, programme, and quality standards

• Chair site meetings and liaise confidently with senior management and key stakeholders

• Maintain strict health & safety compliance in line with CSR and industry regulations

• Monitor programme delivery and proactively resolve on‑site challenges

• Ensure the highest standards of workmanship appropriate to heritage projects

• £50,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
