This one’s for an Estimator who can take full ownership of bids from first read to final submission. Someone who’s comfortable being the go‑to person for estimating in a smaller, well‑run contractor –
heading up a team of one initially
, with real influence over how work is won.

You’ll be pricing a strong mix of NHS/healthcare refurb
, CAT A commercial fit‑outs
, education
, and design & build / specialist environments – projects typically up to £10m
.

, and they need someone who can own the pricing and help shape the next phase of growth.

• Established contractor with repeat business and long‑standing client relationships
• High standards,
  safety‑first
  , and known for delivering on time and on budget
• Collaborative working with PMs/QS and senior leadership – no silos
• You’ll be trusted to run your lane and shape the bid process

You’ll take ownership of estimating from start to finish, including:

• Reviewing tender docs, drawings and specs and pulling together a clear plan
• Producing accurate take‑offs / BoQs / cost plans
• Packaging and sending enquiries, chasing returns, levelling and validating quotes
• Pricing prelims, clarifications, and identifying value engineering opportunities
• Supporting bid submissions / presentations and ensuring compliance
• Handover to delivery teams so the job runs smoothly after award

• Proven construction estimating background (ideally fit‑out / refurb / new build
  )
• Comfortable being the lead estimator and owning the process end‑to‑end
• Strong commercial judgement – not just “plugging numbers in”
• Confident with MS Office and estimating tools/systems
• Calm communicator who can work closely with site, commercial and leadership teams
