Overview
Nether Currie Primary School has moved into a new era with the addition of early learning and childcare provision for children aged 2-5 years. A new nursery building opened in August 2022 and numbers have steadily risen.
We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our setting, who can bring knowledge, experience, vitality, flexibility and a passion for helping young children develop and grow through planning and providing high quality learning experiences.
The setting will offer early learning and childcare 52 weeks of the year, across a variety of models for up to 64 children.
Responsibilities- Plan and provide high quality learning experiences for young children in the early years provision.
- Contribute to a full year, 52-week operation across a 7:45am – 6:15pm window, with a weekly rotational shift pattern as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support children's development and learning in a nurturing environment.
- The Early Years Practitioner must hold either SNNB/HNC Child Care and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services, Children and Young People.
- This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outwith the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
- An unconditional offer of employment and commencement will be subject to satisfactory outcomes of both pre-employment checks.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annual increases to the top of the range. We are happy to talk flexible working.
