Office Attendance – Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to Newcastle, Edinburgh or Glasgow office 1- 2 days per week, with occasional travel to other offices.

We have an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our amazing Tesco Underwriting team, working with all levels of leadership.
Procurement plays a crucial role in our organisation, ensuring we have the right suppliers, contracts, and strategies to support our evolving business. You’ll manage the contractual processes including sourcing new third-parties and renewals of existing in compliance with the Procurement & Supplier Management policy and framework to ensure Tesco Underwriting receive appropriate service and value for money.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires strong procurement expertise, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
What you’ll be doing- Aligning procurement activities with Tesco Underwriting strategic objectives.
- Identifying contract requirements and writing specifications for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
- Contract Management. managing the delivery of a major part of our contract management program while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission-critical contracts.
- Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside of Tesco Underwriting.
- Keeping track of risk parameters, identifying any more deviations and reporting them to senior colleagues.
- Developing stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.
- Supporting the TU Procurement Team with procurement activities, including contract administration, tracking, and reporting to maintain governance and efficiency.
- Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing best value for Tesco Underwriting.
- Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
- Using sound judgement build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across Tesco Underwriting.
- Support the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical, and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.
- Proven experience of leading RFP process for Tier 1 suppliers.
- Demonstrates experience in Categories:
Professional services and Claims supply chain. - Robust experience in procurement for Underwriting and Claims services.
- Motor / home / personal lines experience is advantageous.
- CIPS qualified or working towards this.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ensuring procurement activities align with our strategic objectives.
- Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.
