Salary: £39,129 - £46,023
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks
The Edinburgh Convention Bureau (CVB) is entering a new phase, with renewed ambition to grow high‑value, sustainable business events for the city. This newly created role offers the chance to define how the CVB goes to market, securing business that delivers long‑term value for Edinburgh.
In this high‑impact role you will attract and convert national and international conferences, corporate events, and incentive travel, delivering real economic growth for the city. Working within the Edinburgh Convention Bureau Service, you will lead proactive sales, craft winning bids, and build strong partnerships to position Edinburgh as a world‑class, sustainable, and accessible events destination.
Key Responsibilities- Generate, qualify and progress high‑quality business event leads to maximise economic and social impact for the city.
- Lead proactive lead generation, bid support and stakeholder collaboration.
- Build strong relationships with event planners, venues, academic and industry partners, and other city stakeholders.
- Manage complex enquiry pipelines, forecast potential economic impact, and provide accurate, timely intelligence to partners and senior stakeholders.
- Act as a confident ambassador for Edinburgh in national and international markets, championing sustainable, fair‑work, inclusive and responsible business events principles throughout the sales process.
- Experienced business events and destination sales professional.
- Strong relationship‑management and influencing skills.
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
- Disciplined, data‑led approach to performance management.
- Flexibility to operate in a dynamic, partnership‑led, public‑sector environment.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. Happy to talk flexible working.
