Business Analyst Banking

Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting a leading financial services organisation in Edinburgh as they look to appoint an experienced Business Analyst to join their Banking Operations function
. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, detail‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, regulated environment and enjoys shaping operational excellence.

As a key member of the Operations Change team, you will play a central role in delivering process improvements, supporting transformation initiatives, and ensuring operational workflows remain robust, efficient, and compliant. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Technology, and Change to gather requirements, analyse data, and help implement solutions that enhance the customer experience and strengthen operational control.

• Conduct detailed business analysis across banking operations, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements using structured methodologies
• Map, review, and optimise operational processes
• Support change delivery, ensuring solutions meet operational needs and regulatory expectations
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement system and process enhancements
• Produce high‑quality documentation including requirements, process maps, and test scripts
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation activities
• Provide analytical insight to drive data‑led decision‑making

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services
• Strong understanding of operational processes within retail or corporate banking
• Excellent requirements‑gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder‑management skills
• Ability to challenge constructively and influence positive change
• Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
• Experience working in regulated environments
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, Agile, or similar methodologies (desirable)
