The company is founder-led and pre-scale, with a strong emphasis on legal, regulatory, fundraising, and operational execution.

Role Overview

This is an execution-focused freelance role supporting the founder across legal research, operations, sales support, and fundraising preparation. The Founder’s Associate acts as a day-to-day execution assistant to the founder. The role is not strategic, managerial, or decision-making. Work is task-based, with priorities set directly by the founder.

Core Responsibilities
  • Legal and regulatory research (copyright, platform liability, AI governance)
  • Preparation of briefing notes, summaries, and follow-ups for meetings
  • Investor pitch and partnership material support
  • CRM, pipeline, and sales operations updates
  • Document management and operational coordination
Structure
  • Freelance / independent contractor
  • Clear scope and deliverables agreed upfront
Requirements
  • Law degree required (LLB / Scots Law or equivalent)
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail
  • Highly organised, reliable, and execution-driven
  • Comfortable with Google Docs, Notion, and spreadsheets
  • Based in Edinburgh (preferred) or Glasgow
  • Applicants without a law degree will not be considered.

This role offers close exposure to a founder operating in a regulated technology environment, with involvement across legal reasoning, fundraising support, and operational execution. Expectations are intentionally junior and clearly defined.
