Assistant Management Accountant

The role:

The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts; together with the maintenance of the books and records excluding all transactional posting requirements. The ideal candidate will be hungry for learning and development and Pulsant can support this person with the development of their knowledge and expertise via the pursuit of a professional accounting qualification (such as CIMA.)

This is a hybrid working role (3 days a week in the office and 2 from home).

• Assis with the preparation of the management accounts within the reporting timescale, including accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with the review of the management accounts to ensure any unusual balances are explained
• Maintenance of the general ledger
• Reconcile all major balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, including preparation of bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, accruals, pre payments among others.
• Assist with the preparation, review and submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable and procurement teams to ensure accurate coding of Purchase Orders/Invoices
• Support and assisting with audits as required, including tax computations

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role (with experience preparing monthly accounts)
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Hungry for learning and development
• Seeks accountability and ownership of their role
• Either part way through a professional qualification (such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or a desire to work towards this, with Pulsant's support
• Willing to undergo an adverse financial check
