- The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.
- Engage in assigned tasks during all working hours and perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require. May be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations to achieve Customer service and operational goals.
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear; report any unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner, and greet Customers throughout the Store and at the register.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customers; respond to Customer Service calls immediately and involve Store Leadership as needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors) and replenish restroom supplies to maintain store areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company's dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandise items per guidelines, and maintain brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention concepts and merchandise protection standards, and follow MOS policies for disposals and related procedures.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follow cash handling procedures.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including POS systems as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and rolling racks; some assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shift: ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
