Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care and performs nursing procedures. A Licensed Vocational Nurse functions under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Responsible and accountable in maintaining performance skills. May be necessary to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on call/call back status.
Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Must be current upon hire and thereafter. - ACLS

If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience needs to obtain within 12 months of hire, unless in Labor and Delivery or Post‑Partum where RN must obtain within six months of hire; nurse with over a year experience must obtain within 6 months; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times. - PALS or ENPC
:
If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience needs to obtain within 12 months of hire; nurse with over a year experience must obtain within 6 months; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times. - NRP
:
If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience needs to rituals within 12 months of hire, unless in Labor and Delivery or Post‑Partum where RN needs to obtain within six months; nurse with over a year experience must obtain within 6 months; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times. - TNCC or T‑CAR (TCAR only for ICCU not ED):
If required, must have and maintain certification within eighteen months after hire; or if hired with aMichigan current certification must keep current at all times. - CPI

If required, nurse with a year or less of experience needs to obtain within 12 months of hire, nurse with over a year experience must obtain within 6 months; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times. - SAMA

If required, must obtain Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification within 90 days of starting unit orientation.
