Pediatric Nurse Practitioner In-patient PRN

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a member of the intensive care team and has as his/her primary responsibility the management of a caseload of critically ill complex (multi-organ) patients in a critical care setting. The NP is in direct collaboration with his/her supervising physician or designated back-up physician. He/she has specialized skills and knowledge related to the unique Intensive Care setting in which he/she practices and performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnosis and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate medications and interventions, and provides patient care services in a Critical Care organization and the nursing profession.
