Field Technician II (Overnight Travel Required)
Our client is seeking a qualified Field Technician to join their team in Edinburg, TX and provide end‑user support. The position requires overnight travel from Sunday to Thursday, onsite at client location during normal business hours with overtime potentially required. Candidates must have a valid state driver’s license (Real ), a clean MVR, and a reliable vehicle.
Responsibilities- Project focus on upgrading advanced commercial printers at retail locations.
- Replace printer parts, including paper feed, power supply, print head, toner drum, transfer belt, and image unit.
- Perform complex upgrades and troubleshooting of printers, servers, hard drives, and monitor systems.
- Provide on‑site technical support to internal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues related to operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
- Install and remove equipment and systems as required.
- Responsible for day‑to‑day operation of applications and equipment and serve as a customer contact on technical and service‑related problems.
- Ensure that all schedules, transmissions, online systems, and problems are resolved accurately and timely.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, departments, and within the organization to lead problem resolution and change management processes.
- Determine the most cost‑effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime.
- Minimum 2–3+ years of field service experience, specifically with commercial printers.
- Extensive travel via plane and/or car is required.
- Experience with commercial/large printers;
Lexmark printer certification is a plus. - Electronics/mechanics aptitude and experience working on commercial printers.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, networks, databases, and network security concepts and tools.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Outlook.
- Experience with multi‑platform Windows OS.
- Familiarity with Rufus, Windows Server imaging, photo printing, and troubleshooting system connectivity and Windows configuration.
- Ability to work independently in a retail environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders, leadership, partners, team members, and customers.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Demonstrated capability to achieve results in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment.
Wage Range: $18.76 - $27.50 per hour (subject to geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications).
