The UTRGV Psychology Clinic is looking for a qualified psychology graduate assistant to join our mental health clinic team to provide quality mental health services and training experiences for graduate students. The Psychology training clinic offers clinical practicum training and investigative clinical research experiences for our PhD Clinical Psychology graduate students. Our training clinic emphasizes working with disadvantaged and culturally diverse individuals and families from our community.
Our staff, faculty, and students are bilingual Spanish speaking and work with local community agency to serve those most in need of accessing mental health services. As a clinic team member, the intern should be prepared to work in a fast‑paced team environment and develop sensitivity to client privacy and gain broad experiences in an array of mental and emotional health issues.
We are looking for a highly organized student with an excellent academic track record for the position of graduate assistant. Graduate assistants are responsible for organizing outcome measures, assisting undergraduate interns, assisting with clinic client check‑ins, researching relevant topics, organizing/aggregating/ analyzing data, and assisting faculty with research, among other duties.
Responsibilities- Assist in office management including processing referrals, screening clients, and checking in clients using electronic health records.
- Assist in the distribution of outcome measures and data entry and analysis of outcome measures.
- Analyze clinic outcome measures data and develop clinic statistical reports.
- Assist with the management of clinic training materials and didactic lectures.
- Provide support to social media efforts.
- Find information in libraries and research internet sources.
- Design research methodologies or populate literature reviews.
- Participate in research and co‑author research papers with faculty when applicable.
- Assist faculty with teaching material and grading papers.
Required Qualifications
Must be admitted to a graduate Psychology degree program. Applicant should be enrolled in 9 hours over the Spring semester. Applicant should be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
