Role Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that supplied components and assemblies meet all technical, quality, and customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This role acts as the key interface between suppliers, internal functional teams, and the local organization to ensure that quality expectations are clearly communicated, verified, and continuously improved.

The SQE will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Service, Quality, and Procurement to ensure that supplier-related issues are identified, contained, resolved, and prevented from recurring. This includes supporting major projects from initial design through manufacturing, delivery, commissioning, and customer handover.

The role requires strong coordination skills, technical insight, and a proactive approach to supplier performance and issue resolution.

Responsibilities & Key Activities Supplier Quality Assurance & Project Support
  • Ensure smooth execution of supplier‑related activities from design through assembly and testing, including participation in project kick‑off meetings and coordination of PDCA documentation.
  • Review supplier documentation (drawings, specifications, test results, certificates) and ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support internal teams during build, assembly, factory testing, and witness testing by ensuring suppliers deliver conforming parts and by escalating issues where needed.
Supplier Communication & Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal departments (R&D, Operations, Service, Marketing, Quality).
  • Provide suppliers and internal stakeholders with clear, timely communication regarding technical requirements, quality expectations, and project needs.
  • Ensure that all required supplier information and documentation is available to support field activities and site work.
Issue Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor supplier performance and collect on‑site or field feedback related to supplied materials or assemblies.
  • Report issues to the relevant internal departments and follow through until containment, corrective, and preventive actions are fully implemented.
  • Support root cause analysis for supplier nonconformances and ensure corrective actions are completed and validated.
  • Monitor product performance after customer handover, identifying any emerging supplier‑related trends or systemic issues.
Site & Supplier Engagement
  • Visit supplier facilities and project sites when necessary to:
    • Assess conditions impacting supplier deliverables
    • Support issue resolution
    • Gather feedback to drive product and process improvements
  • Facilitate communication and problem resolution between suppliers and internal teams during critical project phases.
Tracking & Validation
  • Follow up on all supplier‑related activities to ensure completion according to plan.
  • Verify that all supplier actions support quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Qualifications Required
  • Technical background;
    Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in Quality, Service, Engineering, or Product Management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and equivalent business applications.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Proven problem‑solving abilities and structured mindset.
  • Team‑oriented with a willingness to collaborate across functions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Preferred
  • Experience in supplier quality engineering or supply chain quality.
  • Previous exposure to commissioning, factory acceptance testing, or field service environments.
Travel Requirements
  • ~25%
