Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a RN Educator - Registered Nurse to join our education team at the Ebenezer Corporate office in Edina, MN! This position supports the Education Department by assisting in the development and delivery of training programs for clinical and non‑clinical employees. The LPN Educator teaches and demonstrates fundamental nursing skills, assists with new employee orientation, and supports RN Educators in preparing educational materials and verifying learning outcomes.

This nurse educator schedule includes;

  • On Call/Casual
  • Day shifts available
  • To maintain Casual status, employees must be willing to be available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts per month (two shifts must be weekend shifts) and one (1) Holiday shift per year. The weekend starts with the beginning of the night shift on Friday and ends with the beginning of the night shift on Sunday
Responsibilities
  • Presents educational topics related to the health care industry in large and small group settings:
  • Presents a variety of nursing topics at New Employee Orientation
  • Acts as an Ebenezer representative for education and/or public speaking at Ebenezer sites
  • Speaks at general public events upon request
  • Demonstrates and teaches skills:
  • Demonstrates basic nursing skills and assists learners during hands‑on training sessions
  • Prepares students for competency validation with an RN
  • Provides ongoing education assistance at the site level in group or 1:1 settings
  • Supports education and training activities:
  • Sets up classrooms, supplies, and learning environments for training and onboarding
  • Reinforces learning through review sessions and/or 1:1 training
  • Supports implementation of educational plans and provides feedback to RN educators and site leadership regarding learner progress
  • Identifies staff who may benefit from additional learning opportunities and communicates these observations to the supervising RN
  • Participates in education development and projects:
  • Participates in special projects and program development as assigned
  • Provides regular input on presentations to ensure best practice
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Assists in maintaining appropriate supplies at NEO to provide effective training and competency verification
  • Assist with department workflows that may assist various members of the education team
Required Qualifications
  • Associate of Science Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree - Nursing
  • less than 1 year of previous experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows 7
  • Registered Nurse RN Licensure/Registered with the MN Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; accepted certifications as follows
    -AHA: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program or BLS Provider - BLS Instructor. American Red Cross: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and/or Healthcare Providers, Life Guarding First Aid/CPR/AED
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing
  • 1 year One to Three Years
  • Proficient in Eldermark Computer Documentation Software
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in home care or assisted living environment
