This 31 bed adult Medical Oncology Unit is an interdisciplinary team that collaboratively cares for a variety of patient populations from acute illness to chronic disease management. M Health Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse in our Medical Oncology Unit at Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! Fairview Southdale Hospital offers care to people living and working in the southwest Twin Cities metro area. With more than 40 specialty services, we combine talents to balance innovative technologies and treatments with the art of medicine. Working together, we respectfully address the comprehensive needs of our patients and their families.
Schedule: This position is 56 hours per two weeks on the day shift, 8‑hour shifts (7am-3:30pm) with every other weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Responsibilities- Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
- Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
- Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
- Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership‑based health care.
- Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP).
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 1 year experience
