Overview
A Seasonal Maintenance Tech II employee performs manual and unskilled maintenance work at various city park buildings. Assist in the daily cleanup of park shelters and various park buildings.
Responsibilities- Performs general cleaning of City-owned facilities as assigned using a variety of equipment and varies hand tools.
- Collect waste and recyclables for disposal.
- Ensure restroom toiletry supplies are restocked.
- Mops floors and cleans walls.
- Responds to immediate needs for cleaning.
- Cleans and sanitizes spills.
- Touch up painting and minor maintenance repairs.
- All jobs require that proper personal protective equipment be worn and used as necessary.
- Performs general cleaning of City-owned facilities as assigned using a variety of equipment such as backpack blower, golf cart, and various hand tools.
- Collect waste and recyclables for disposal.
- Responds to immediate needs for cleaning.
- Waters planted annual pots in and around district.
- Cleans and sanitizes spills.
- Touch up painting, and minor maintenance repairs.
- Schedule may vary depending on demands.
- Communicates courteously, professionally and maintains working relationships with others in carrying out job functions; conveys basic information to the public when approached with questions.
- Performs all job duties in compliance with safety guidelines and a ongoing awareness of safety practices; wears proper protective equipment when policy requires, or conditions indicate a need exists and utilizes proper body mechanics and ergonomics while performing work.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license. The job requires the ability to read instructions, calculate proportions, and communicate verbally with the public or City employees.
Physical RequirementsDaily, lift and/or carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds. Assistive devices are available. Frequent standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending/kneeling/squatting, grasp and reach for routine assigned tasks.
Working ConditionsThis job is performed indoors (within city park buildings) and outdoors. Expected exposures to inclement weather, outdoor allergens, slippery surfaces and uneven ground, noise generated from equipment operations, exposure to hazardous chemicals and body fluids, dirt and grease, and sharp tools. Use of various personal protective equipment (PPE) for identified hazards.
