Job Summary

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) assist clients with all daily living activities, personal care, and program implementation. DSPs are responsible for client well‑being and safety, while ensuring adequate supervision. DSPs support household maintenance and housekeeping and perform various tasks to support the home.

MORA – Mount Olivet Rolling Acres – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors, and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and age‑related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro. Services include Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities.

The Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of essential, cost‑effective services for adults and children.

Schedule

Week 1:
Wed 2pm‑9pm, Thurs 2pm‑9pm, Fri 2pm‑9pm, Sat 9am‑11pm.
Week 2:
Wed 2pm‑9pm, Thurs 2pm‑9pm, Fri 2pm‑9pm, Sat 9am‑11pm.

Hourly Base Rate

Hourly Base Rate: $18.50 per hour.
Weekend differential: +$2.00 per hour for hours between Fri 10pm and Sun 10pm.
Overnight differential: +$1.00 per hour for hours between 10pm and 6am.
$12.13 per hour for sleep hours only when assigned.

Retainment Bonuses: $1,500 for full‑time staff and $750 for part‑time staff, paid over 1 year.

Essential Job Functions and

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily cares, medical needs, and supports, ADLs, and mental health supports.
  • Assist individuals with a daily routine, providing opportunities for choice and creative options. The routine includes hygiene, domestic tasks, leisure, grooming, socializing, budgeting, safety, health, studying, homework, and community participation.
  • Plan and implement recreation, leisure, and community activities.
  • Drive to/from and accompany clients at appointments and community activities using a company vehicle during all hours of operation.
  • Assist individuals in establishing and maintaining community relationships and facilitating friendships.
  • Demonstrate understanding of each client’s unique needs and implement programs per CSSP, CSSP‑A, and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan.
  • Provide person‑centered services through practice, action, and language.
  • Maintain knowledge of client history, skills, vulnerabilities, habilitation plans, and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in the support team process; assist with developing and implementing goals.
  • Administer prescribed medication, treatments, diets, or exams as directed by CSSP and CSSP‑A.
  • Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and MORA policies.
  • Prepare meals following the planned menu and complete weekly food ordering as needed.
  • Assist with daily housekeeping and household maintenance.
  • Complete house quality improvement assessments and address identified issues.
  • Ensure adequate supervision of clients, remaining on shift until a replacement arrives.
  • Work harmoniously with and show respect to all internal and external individuals.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, using the primary spoken language of clients.
  • Complete all mandatory training as determined by MORA or 245D regulations.
  • Read and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Remain awake at all times unless assigned a sleeping shift.
  • Accurately document program data and daily log information punctually.
  • Collaborate with the team to complete other duties as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience with clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Interest in supporting clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status.
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must successfully complete the company’s physical job demands document.
  • Must possess a valid current driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance as required by state law.
