GYN ONC Clinical Assistant – Minnesota Oncology (Edina, MN)

Salary: $21.50–$30.00 per hour

• Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties under direct supervision.
• Promote efficient patient flow – exams and procedures.
• Perform clinic support tasks, including clerical duties, phone answering, and schedule maintenance.
• Support US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to each visit: vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records before treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referrals to physicians, nurses, or pharmacists.
• Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception as directed by supervisor or physician.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Certified MA or Registered MA preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• 2–3 years of experience preferred; GYN experience helpful.
• Alternative qualifications:
  Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant Program, EMT, or CNA with 1 year direct care experience.

• Requires full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment may occur.
