The Accounting Manager will play a central role in overseeing the firm's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment across all financial functions. This position supports senior leadership with financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, insurance management, and HR finance support. The ideal candidate is a CPA with a sharp analytical mind, a proactive approach, and the ability to operate with a high degree of independence while collaborating across teams.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and recommend cost‑saving and efficiency improvements.
- Deliver detailed financial reports and actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in Quick Books or other financial systems.
- Coordinate with external CPAs to support federal, state, and local tax preparation and filing.
- Conduct annual reviews of company insurance policies to assess coverage adequacy and alignment with business risk.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external brokers to adjust coverage based on operational changes.
- Coordinate timely renewal of all insurance policies and ensure continuous, compliant coverage.
- Develop and implement internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist HR with administration of employee benefits, including health insurance and 401(k) plans.
- Support employee compensation planning and provide financial guidance on benefits cost analysis and retention strategies.
- Assist with tax return preparation for select clients during tax season.
- Coordinate with external tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely filings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with tax regulations, financial compliance, and insurance policy management.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
