Worship Leader Intern

Wooddale Church is a multigenerational, Bible-teaching church in Minnesota with campuses in Eden Prairie, Edina, and the University of Minnesota. Wooddale Church has a rich history and a future of sharing the Gospel locally and globally by planting churches, supporting global partners, and serving its local community.

This role is an opportunity for a college student to gain practical, hands-on ministry experience. In coordination with the Campus Pastor, The Avenue Campus Worship Leader Intern will assist in the planning and creation of engaging worship experiences at the campus.

• Act as the primary modern worship leader for the campus
• Assist in the process of recruiting and developing musicians and vocalists
• Choose and arrange song selections, help create song charts, oversee the creation and accuracy of lyrical slides.
• Schedule vocalists/musicians for Modern Worship services via Planning Center Online
• Meet regularly with The Avenue Campus Pastor
• Lead Modern Worship band and vocalist rehearsals
• Effectively lead the congregation in worship and facilitate worship experiences

• Actively following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and committed to the mission of Jesus.
• Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church.

• Highly gifted and called worship leader, committed to a Christ-centered approach to corporate worship.
• Vocally and musically proficient with the ability to read musical notation and follow chord charts.
• Ability to lead a team of volunteer and professional musicians, giving overall direction to both the musical and vocal elements.
• Experience and familiarity with related music technology, such as Planning Center Online, Ableton Live, and Klang.

• Collaborative leader gifted in developing a healthy team and worship culture.
• Strategic and organized in the planning and implementation of engaging worship experiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and grow relationships with a variety of people, at Wooddale and throughout the community.
• Self-starting and driven toward helping fulfill campus and church-wide goals and objectives.
• Effective in communication, written and verbal.

Typical schedule includes Wednesday evening hours. This job operates indoors. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This role will average around 5 hours of work each week at the pay rate of $17.00 per hour. Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time will accrue at 1 hour per every 30 hours worked. This is a temporary role for the duration of the school year.
