The Senior Director of Business Development is a key commercial leader responsible for driving strategic growth across the organization's clinical research services portfolio. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and securing partnerships with biopharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. The ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise, a strong network, and a proven ability to translate scientific and operational capabilities into compelling business opportunities.
A Senior Director Business Development, you will have the opportunity to:
Strategic Growth & Revenue Leadership- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Own revenue targets for assigned regions, accounts, or therapeutic areas.
- Build, manage, and expand a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across Phase I–IV clinical services.
- Lead complex deal negotiations, pricing strategies, and contract execution in collaboration with legal, finance, and operational leadership.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at biotech, pharma, and device companies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understandingtheirdevelopmentpipelines, challenges, and outsourcing strategies.
- Maintain long-term strategic partnerships to drive repeat business and multi-year engagements.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, scientific meetings, and networking events.
- Partner closely with clinical operations, project management, scientific experts, and executive leadership to develop tailored proposals and operational solutions.
- Lead bid defense meetings and ensure seamless handoff from business development to operational delivery teams.
- Provide market intelligence and client feedback to inform service innovation, pricing models, and competitive positioning.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory shifts, and competitive dynamics within the CRO landscape.
- Identify new service offerings, geographic expansion opportunities, and strategic partnerships that enhance the company’s value proposition.
- Bachelor’s degreein a relevant field
AND 8-10+ yearsof experience in business develop mentor commercial experience within a CRO, clinical research, or biopharma services environment - Proven track recordof sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex deals
- Deep understanding of clinical trial operations, outsourcing models, and drug development processes
- Established network within biotech and/or pharmaceutical companies
- Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and executive-level communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with shifting priorities
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or related field
- Experience working in medical imaging capacity, preferably in respiratory or pulmonary
