We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join our specialist college in Edgware, supporting a teenage student on a 1:1 basis. This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference to a young person with additional needs. The successful candidate will provide consistent, structured support to help student access learning, develop independence, and engage positively with college life.

• Provide 1:1 support to a male teenage learner with complex SEND needs
• Assist with personal care as required, maintaining dignity and safeguarding at all times
• Support emotional regulation and respond calmly to challenging behaviour
• Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the student’s individual support plan
• Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams
• Promote independence, social skills, and positive engagement
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND (education, care, or youth work)
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
• A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
• Willingness to support with personal care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
